Sugar cane

Sugarcane is grown in these lands, which comes from the genus sacharae and the species saccharum officinarum and different varieties from the so-called YELLOW, PINDAR, HAWAII and POJ both due to diseases and low yields, until today we have the so-called BARBADOS.

This particular variety is very productive, given its characteristics of producing good quality seed, the speed of growth and the short time until maturity. Thanks to the high yield of sugar per hectare and its exquisite flavor, combined with our passion for its care and the benefits of the valley with its climate, land and its people, Finca Sermide produces organic sugar cane of excellent quality.

Thanks to the qualities of these lands we also have the cultivation of bamboo. Its scientific name Guadúa angustifolia belongs to the Family Poaceae and Subfamily Bambusoideae. Bamboo has very strong natural fibers that allow the development of construction products such as laminates, floors, panels, mats, furniture, columns, beams and pulps, it is also a great carbon fixer as well as allows the refuge of wild animals, being an important factor in our ecological farm.
